The New Religion of America
Spend enough time online and you may just end up cross-eyed. At this rate, not only am I four-eyed, cross-eyed, and glassy-eyed, but I’m red-eyed. (That’ll make sense in a moment.) I’ve come to realize what these eyes are seeing is the entrenchment of the new religion. To cover the Democratic National Convention on the podcast, I sat staring at an endless stream of X posts questioning Harris and Walz, rejecting the Democrat party, and proclaiming the thoughts of those who are tired of corruption, lying, and misinformation. But what stuck out to me the most about the DNC was the entrenchment of a religion adversarial to Christianity. Lately, the news has been filled with horror stories of governments attempting to repress the speech of their citizens (or those from around the world). From the UK putting 61-year-old men in jail for a year and a half over comments at a protest to EU commissioners threatening to bring the law against American billionaires for allowing “misinformation” on their platform; these stories have captivated anyone paying attention. Oftentimes, people living in America sit back with a cold drink and watch the drama unfold as though it were a daytime soap opera. Musk Fends off EU Threats over Free Speech
It seems as though Donald Trump and Elon Musk draw lightning no matter where they go. Put them into the same space and suddenly the whole world draws near to see the fireworks. And like clockwork, discussions swirl around free speech. Monday night, X Spaces hosted a conversation between Elon Musk and Donald Trump. 2.1 million people listened in, while the post itself gathered over 54 million views. While these numbers are impressive, the number one Spaces event remains Musk’s discussion with Ron Desantis a few years ago. Of course, technical troubles before the discussion with Trump caused saliva to run down the chins of the establishment media. If you haven’t been keeping up on the news in the UK, you may want to take a look. While we have stock market crashes, war between Iran and Israel, elections heating up, and Olympic boxing controversies, we may learn a couple of lessons from the chaos unfolding over in England. What Happened in the UK? A 17-year-old boy is being accused of stabbing three little girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport. Axel Rudakubanais currently being charged with murdering three girls while being charged with 10 counts of attempted murder after stabbing others in the class. Rumors swirled around the event, as people claimed a Muslim immigrant had stabbed the girls in a rampage.
