The influence of Christianity on western civilization is ingrained all around us in our original culture. Not only did it provide the fundamental bedrock of the United States Founding itself, but it also remains evident in many of our cultural customs. Some of these things are very common and hardly considered when it comes to their source of origination. They can include deeper things like how our western worldview was formed and the moral expectations of how we treat one another, to phrases we say in our everyday language, to even the names we grant our children. Were the Founders of the United States simply “deists”? Debunking this modern myth. Most who are even somewhat familiar with apologetics and debate concerning political history may recall the common assertion: “the Founders certainly weren’t Christians! They were only diests!” Such is a phrase often repeated with zealous gusto. The Debates Rage

Lately, I've been noticing a lot of firepower from a certain group of pastors/preachers against another group of pastors/preachers. That firepower is magnified by people on Facebook and Youtube proclaiming from the rooftops the point of view of these pastors, and throwing in their “amen” in the comments. It's been all over my feeds, shared by friends, discussed by friends in tension-filled conversations, and bandied about by every psuedo-theologian in practice today. I've seen the claims from some that others are practicing occult members, muslims in disguise, spiritists, and downright demonic. Since I have a platform, I'm going to air out my opinion.
